Use DF and DG squares to pick up the tanker convoys and don't forget some cruisers are fitted with very early radar on the larger ships not on DDs at this stage.good luck and happy hunting.

Just a quick one, the best place for picking up tankers apart from the northern route into Liverpool is the mid Atlantic route for fast tanker convoys initially started mid 42 very large fast convoys of over 14 knots up to 18 being the fastest i have seen, but the mid Atlantic is foul weather in summer i have personally been in fog in the middle of a convoy on the surface for 17 hours waiting for better weather in the end i launched using my hydrophones for my bearings and track and launched all six crashed dived to 140 feet and slunk away and heard 4 thunks with 2 tankers sinking and 2 damaged unknown very satisfying patrol.be aware very heavily guarded convoys with BB and CA sometimes with carriers but the best place in my personal opinion is around Gibraltar over 70% of the larger convoys will track through or into the med from end 42 on wards ,the heaviest convoys early war ref tonnage is the ANZAC armies coming from India up the west coast of Africa between November and December 41 some very large cruise ships involved my largest tonnage is 172,000 GMT on one such convoy. Theres one way of installing GWX and other mods to this game shared by FIEDLER in this thread, and theres an easy, much quicker way I found to do it that works. Get all boats, guns, conning towers & torpedos in 1939 along with more ammo capacity for the guns and the torpedos on certain boats.
